The Mu Chapter of Omicron Nu, a national home economics honor society, was founded at Cornell in 1919. Dr. Georgia L. White of the Michigan Agricultural College acted as the installing officer. The aims of the organization were to promote scholarship and to further home economics education at Cornell.
